I have always had a fascination with american football. I remember owning a sweatshirt when I was 7 with an random player on it and when I was 10 I had a T-shirt that was too big with Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck dressed up in Oakland Raiders gear. 2 favourite pieces of clothing.
Things really escalated when I first played Madden 96 on Sega Mega Drive II. Selecting the San Francisco 49ers, choosing plays from the run and shoot playbook using Steve Young to pass to Jerry Rice, EVERY PLAY!!!
Since then Madden has been regularly played in my house.
From there I started playing american football. I have played almost every position on the offense and defense except on the offense and defensive lines. I have represented New Zealand and have traveled to Australia and Hawaii to play in tournaments. I have also coached numerous teams. Some of my career highlights were intercepting a pass in the Kiwi Bowl Final for the under 18's and returning it for a touchdown to win the game in 2002, playing against teams from Kentucky and Tennessee in the Down Under Bowl tournament in Australia and winning the Senior Kiwi Bowl multiple times with the Papatoetoe Wildcats and Metro Lions. In 2012 I won the league MVP award.
Through all this I have followed the NFL extensively. One of the things that really keeps me engaged is fantasy football. I have been playing this for years and love it. Fantasy Football has improved significantly over the last few years and more people are getting involved in it. However I am yet to convince my wife, Kylie, to join.
I look forward to sharing more about this game I love with you and hope you enjoy this ride.
